LAMDA EXAMS
INTRODUCTORY
For our youngest students first steps, The Introductory exams prepare students to memorise, recite and communicate. Students learn to perform a short poem with expression and clarity. After performing from memory, they chat with the examiner demonstrating their concentration and conversation skills.
PERFORMANCE - ACTING
Students learn the important stage skills required and present monologue to an examiner followed by a discussion about their piece. Developing understanding of: Interpretation (style, form, character, plot), Technical skills (vocal techniques, movement, facial expression) and Knowledge (staging, gesture, objectives, theatre practitioners).
COMMUNICATION - VERSE & PROSE
This exam is ideal for developing a confident speaker. Students explore different verse forms, metre and rhythm and learn about a range of authors and poets. Performing chosen selections from memory and demonstrating an understanding of the material, whilst engaging an audience. Sight reading skills are learnt within the higher grades as well as vocal modulation techniques.
COMMUNICATION - SPEAKING IN PUBLIC
Everything they need for speaking confidently in public. Students develop the skills necessary for effective oral communication and public presentation.
The student will be required to select, structure and shape subject matter into a concise speech, knowing their intended audience and purpose. Understanding and demonstrating vocal skills, body language and engaging an audience will be explored throughout.
TUTION FEES
- PRIVATE ONE TO ONE CLASSES 30 MINUTES £20.00
- SMALL GROUPS 60 MINUTES PER STUDENT £15.00
(1 private lesson needed before exam)
Exam fees begin at £27.00 and rise with grade.
Classes booked per term following school terms. (Approx. 10 - 12 weeks).
Class payments are termly and can be made in two instalments. Childcare vouchers accepted.
